Take   a   mid-day   break   October   to   join   Kathy   Robins   and   Lynne   Puckett,   as   we   explore various   genealogy   research   topics.   Research   workshops   will   be   on   Tuesdays   from Noon    until    1    pm    through    October    31    in    the    Computer    Classroom.   These    ladies introduce   new   information   each   week   and   leave   plenty   of   time   to   assist   you   in   your research.   Bring   your   questions   and   explore   your   ancestral   roots!   This   week's   topic: City Directories. 3-month    genealogy research          workshop series              began August         8,         2017. Nothing      is      more important         to         the research       process than   deciding   what   you want   to   learn.   What you   want   to   accomplish may        vary,        but usually,   building   up   to   it with                    well- documented     research will   help.   So   thanks   to   the   painstaking   work   of   Kathy   Robins   and Lynne   Puckett   you   can know   different   way   to   find   out   your   roots   or   some   information   of your   great-grandfather. A       l       l         together          is          13 genealogy   class   series.   were      different:      Irish   online,   passenger   lists, historical   newspapers,   Montana   &   regional   connections,   military   records etc.   Everyone   who   attended   classes   had   a   unique   opportunity   to   learn   how to   correctly   collect   information   in   one   or   another   situation.   And   also   each was   given   a   list   of   resources   and   explained   how   to   use   them   correctly. Separately,      the resource         was noted   to   be   paid or   not.   One   can only    admire    the work      of      these ladies.      October 31,   unfortunately, the   final   session. Take   the   opportunity   to   spend   time   with   benefit.   Such   projects   make   you think   about   your   roots,   about   your   family.   And   most   importantly,   about yourself!   Where   did   I   come   from?   Why   am   I   the   way   I   am?   What   do   I   know about   my   ancestors?   What   can   I   learn   about   them?   And   most   importantly, genealogy   has   always   been   considered   the   lot   of   the   elect.   But   it   turns   out that    we    ourselves    can    be    good,    even    if    not    the    most    professional genealogists. The main thing is to make efforts! "We   had   Montana   Irish   Heritage   exhibit   here   in August.   Since   here   a   lot   of Irish   heritage   people   in   Montana   and   we   decided   to   continue.   After   come the   idea   to   add   another   topic   also.   I   love   to   do   it.   I   am   my   own   family   genealogist   so   I   have   experience   and   skills   how   to   looking   for for   member   of   your   family.   That   is   why   I   was   talking   about   my   grandfather   during   the   meeting.   Kathy,   she   is   my   boss   and   I   we   did   a lot of research before every class. A lot helped Internet, the Internet is your friend!"? - told to Johnson Billings News Lynne Puckett Genealogy Resources in Billings MT Billings Public Library, 510 North Broadway http://ci.billings.mt.us/index.aspx?NID=258 Family History Center 1711 6th St. West mt_billings@idsmail.net MT Big Sky Genealogy Computer Group 1711 6th St. West athnamay@gmail.com Germans from Russia meet at Pilgrim Congregation Church 409 South 36th St. hham@usadig.com
